Business Administration major. . . born 4/16/89. . . son of Tom and Pam Mendez, Lackawanna, N.Y. . . returning for his third season, Mendez played in 33 matches and 102 sets in 2010...produced 200 kills (1.96 per set), 28 aces, 128 digs and 39 total blocks...posted a career-best 17 kills and four service aces in a four-set win over D'Youville on 1/27/10...had double digit kill totals 10 times overall...
2009: Mendez appeared in 52 sets in 2009 and produced 78 kills for a .240 hitting percentage. . . had a career-best 14 kills vs. Hilbert on 3/4/09. . . also had 10 kills vs. Hunter 1/23/09 and 10 vs. Johnson & Wales 2/20/09. . .
Scholastic: a graduate of Canisius High School, Mendez was a member of the varsity volleyball team for three seasons... received MVP and Best Attacker awards while helping team to three league championships... Mendez also participated on the varsity track and field team at Canisius for two seasons as a high jumper and triple jumper... an honor roll student.
