Biochemistry major... born 11/20/95… son of Michael and Susan Newell, Swanzey, N.H… returning for his second season of track and field, Newell's top indoor times for 2015 were 2:13.46 in the 800-meter run and 5:15.21 in the mile... ran 4:38.02 for 1,500 meters outdoors ... also has run for the Golden Flyers' cross country team the past two seasons, finishing in 81st place at the Empire 8 Championships in a time of 30:40.6 in 2015 at Houghton.

Scholastic: a graduate of Monadnock Regional High School, Newell competed in cross country and track… served as cross country team captain in 2012 and 2013 and earned team MVP honors as a junior… served as captain of indoor and outdoor track teams in 2014… qualified for Meet of Champions in the 4 x 800-meter relay and competed in the New England Interscholastic indoor championships in the 4 x 400-meter relay…. competed in the New England Junior Olympic Qualifier in 2012 for the 400-meter hurdles and the pole vault… awarded Diploma of Distinction.
