Biography

Josh PomerleauMusic Education major... son of Aron and Catrina Pomerleau, Webster, N.Y... returning for his fifth track and field season, Pomerleau turned in a pair of second place finishes at the Empire 8 Indoor meet in the pole vault with a height of 4.05 meters (13" 3.5") and a mark of 4.25 meters (14' 11") at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships to earn second-team all-conference... set the school record in the pole vault at the Naz Roc City Qualifier on 5/15/22 with a height of 4.55 meters (14' 11")... also holds the indoor record at 4.40 meters (14' 5.25") at the Brockport Invitational on 1/22/22. 

2020-21: Pomerleau continued to excel for the Golden Flyers as a pole as he set school records both indoors (4.28 meters / 14 feet, 1/2 inch) and outdoors (4.40 meters / 14 feet, 5 1/4 inches)... finished second at the Empire 8 indoor meet and third in the outdoor meet... named E8 Athlete of the Week for 3/1/21.

2019-20: Pomerleau competed in 2020 as a pole vaulter and soared to 3.70 meters (12 feet, 1 1/2 inches) during the indoor season... Pomerleau competed for the Golden Flyers' cross country team in 2019 and finished 39th at the Empire 8 Conference meet at St. John Fisher with a time of 30:00.02 for 8 kilometers... had a personal-best 5k time of 17:32.6 at the Hamilton Invitational.

2018-19: Pomerleau ran for the Golden Flyers' cross country team in 2018 and finished 38th at the Empire 8 Conference meet at Alfred (33:01.2) on 11/10/18... top 8k time of 29:05.6 came at Roberts Wesleyan on 9/22/18... competed in middle distance during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons and top times included 4:34.60 in the 1,500-meter run during the outdoor season and 2:10.82 in the 800-meter run during the indoor season.

Scholastic: a graduate of Webster Schroeder High School, Pomerleau competed in cross country and track and field... was a four-year varsity competitor in cross country and the recipient of the MUSATH Scholarship for Music and Athletics... also won Semper Fidelis Award for musical excellence from the United States Marine Corp and the Quincy Jones Music Award.
