Emily Thompson

Emily Thompson returned as a graduate assistant coach in 2018 for cross country and track and field and completed her collegiate running career in impressive fashion in the spring of 2018 by earning All-American honors in the 10,000-meter run with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships In La Crosse, Wis.

A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Thompson set several school records in becoming one of the most successful runners in the history of the Golden Flyers' track and field and cross country programs. In 2018 alone, she set outdoor school records in the 1,500-, 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs. She enjoyed similar success during the indoor season with records in the mile and 5,000-meter run.

Thompson excelled in the classroom as well and was recognized on the All-Academic team by the United Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. She was the 2018 recipient of the Emily Haskins Inspirational Athlete Award for athletic achievement and inspiration to others.

In 2016 -- in her final season of cross country -- Thompson gained Empire 8 Conference all-star recognition by placing seventh at the conference meet.

Thompson earned an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
