Alexa Wandy joined the Nazareth staff as an assistant coach in January of 2018 and is responsible for training the horizontal and vertical jumpers.
A 2017 graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Wandy joined the Nazareth staff as a three-time national champion and eight-time NCAA Division III All-American. She enjoyed a breakout senior campaign in which she won both the long and triple jump at the NCAA Division III Indoor Meet, including setting a championship meet record of 41 feet, 5 and ¾ inches (12.64m) in the triple. She went on to win another national title during the outdoor season in the triple jump. With her efforts, Wandy was named the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor National Field Athlete of the Year in her senior campaign. Over her four seasons, Wandy was a five-time member of the SUNYAC All-Conference team. In addition to jumps, Wandy also competed in sprints during her four year career.
The three year captain served a track and field internship at Geneseo in the spring of 2017, assisting in recruiting, tours and day visits. In her role, she designed jumps practices and assisted with video analysis.
Wandy was also was a four-year member of the women’s soccer team at Geneseo, earning all-conference recognition all four seasons and NSCAA All-East Region twice.
