A familiar face in the Nazareth soccer landscape, John Berardicurti returned to the Golden Flyers as a part-time assistant coach in 2018. He has more than three decades of soccer coaching experience at various levels. He previously worked for six seasons as an assistant coach for former Nazareth coach Doug May. It's probably not a coincidence that Nazareth reached the finals of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament in 2018 and won titles in 2019 and 2021.
Previously, Berardicurti helped guide the Golden Flyers to a 12-win season in 2002 and an 8-5-3 record and the co-championship of the Empire 8 in May's final season of 2003.
Since his departure, Berardicurti has stayed active in the local soccer circles with assistant coaching stints at Roberts Wesleyan and Monroe Community College. He also has worked with the Rochester Lancers, Rochester Rhinos and Rochester River DogZ. He's also had coaching stints at the University of Rochester and Genesee Community College.
Berardicurti coached 14 seasons at various levels in the Spencerport School District. He helped the boys' teams to six Monroe County divisional titles, five Section Five titles and two state tournament appearances.
Berardicurti's son Jamie played four seasons for the Golden Flyers before graduating in 2001.
