Biography

Quinn McKercher Son of Michael and Karen McKercher, Lake Mary, Fla... team captain... returning for his fifth season, after an impressive senior season... started in all 19 games... led the team with 78 points on 51 goals and 27 assists ... had a season-high of 7 points (4g, 3a) in a 21-8 win against Brockport on 3/13/24... had a season-high 6 goals in a close game 14-11 win against Western New England... was named as an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and named to the USILA Scholar All-American team... received the Robert A. Kidera Award in spring of 2024, recipients of the award must be a senior with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or above, must display character and leadership in campus activities, and be a member in good standing on a varsity team... voted Empire 8 Conference first-team All-Star... received Empire 8 All-Tournament team for scoring 5 times in each game and added an assist for 11 points in the tournament... honored as E8 Player of the week on 03/25/24. 

2023: McKercher was a standout for the Golden Flyers in 2023 as he led the team in scoring with 76 points on 44 goals and 32 assists and was named as an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association... also named Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-star... had 14 multi-goal games that included five goals and two assists in a 20-5 E8 playoff win at Alfred on 5/3/23... had eight points (2g, 6a) in a 30-0 romp over Medaille on 4/12/23... also had seven-point games against Ithaca (4g, 3a) on 3/8/23 and at St. John Fisher on 4/29/23... had five-point games (4g, 1a) in home wins over Springfield on 2/18/23 and Cortland on 4/4/23... scored four times at Alfred on 4/7/23... twice honored as E8 Player of the Week -- for 2/20/23 and 4/17/23.

2022: McKercher had a stellar season in 2022, becoming the eighth player in program history to reach the 50-goal mark... started 16 of 17 games, finishing second on the team with 71 points on 50 goals and 21 assists... also had 26 ground balls and five caused turnovers... recorded at least a point in all but one game... had career-high nine points with four goals and five assists in a 22-8 win over Keene State on 3/19/22... notched eight points with five goals and three assists in a win over Keuka on 4/20/22... earned first team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors.

2021: McKercher had a strong rookie season for the Golden Flyers in 2021 as he appeared in all 11 games and finished second on the team in scoring with 29 points on 20 goals and nine assists... named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year as well as second-team all-conference... had a season-best six goals in a 15-6 win at Oswego on 4/12/21... had five points (3g, 2a) at Alfred on 4/20/21 and against Keuka (2g, 3a) on 3/27/21... has two-goal games at RIT (3/10/21), against Ithaca (3/24/21), against St. John Fisher (4/24/21) and at St. John Fisher in the E8 title game (5/9/21)... named E8 Rookie of the Week for 4/19/21.

Scholastic: a graduate of Lake Mary High School, McKercher played four seasons of varsity lacrosse as an attackman there... earned first-team Seminole County League all-star honors as a senior and second-team recognition as a junior... also earned all-state honors in 2020... helped team to fourth straight district titles... also competed for Lacrosse Club of Orlando... named to Principal's honor roll four four straight years... older brothers Connor and Braeden previously played for the Golden Flyers... Connor graduated in 2016, Braeden in 2023.
