Nursing major... born 4/4/96... son of Ladd and Ann Shaner, Novelty, Ohio... returning for his fourth season, Shaner appeared in eight games as a junior ... finished 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) at face offs ... scored a goal against Houghton on 4/18/17 and went 5-for-6 on face offs.  

2016: Shaner played in 14 games in 2016, mostly as a face-off specialist... won 62 of 106 draws (58.5 percent) and scooped up 31 ground balls... scored his lone goal of the season against Stevens in the E8 playoffs on 5/4/16... went a perfect 6-for-6 on faceoffs in a win at Utica on 4/13/16... went 7-for-10 vs. Hartwick on 4/16/16 and 8-for-10 vs. Houghton on 4/19/16... went 9-for-14 vs. St. John Fisher on 4/2/16.

2015: Shaner appeared in five games in 2015 ... scored two goals against Houghton... finished the season 30-for-47 on face-offs ... won 13 of 14 draws and picked up a career-high 10 ground balls against Elmira on 3/28/15.

Scholastic: a graduate of West Geauga High School, Shaner played four seasons of lacrosse, serving as a midfielder/face-off specialist... named team's offensive player of the year while serving as team captain for two seasons... named first-team all-region and second-team all-state... achieved rank of Eagle Scout in 2014... recipient of Nazareth Presidential Scholarship.
