Physical Therapy major... born 01/19/92... son of Peter and Michelle Simoneau, Manchester, N.H... team captain... returning for his fourth season, Simoneau was sensational for the Golden Flyers again in 2014 as he earned third-team All-American honors from the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, and was a repeat selection as Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year as a face-off specialist... named first-team all-conference for the third year in a row... led all of Division III in ground balls per game at 12.77 after scooping up 230 ground balls and winning 277 face-offs in 408 attempts (67.9 percent)... also contributed eight goals and two assists... had two-goal games against Hamilton on 3/5/14 and Lynchburg on 3/22/14... broke his own school record with 20 ground balls in a game while winning 21 of 28 face-offs in a 17-11 win at Elmira on 3/29/14... won 22 face-offs each in wins over Hamilton on 3/5/14 and Bowdoin on 3/12/14... named E8 Conference Player of the Week for 3/31/14... recipient of team's Ground Ball Award for the third year in a row... begins the 2015 season as Nazareth's career leader in ground balls (577) and face-offs won (753).
2013: Simoneau was spectacular for the Golden Flyers as he earned honorable mention All-American honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and was named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year as a face-off specialist... also named first-team all-conference for the second year in a row... shattered school records by winning 314 face-offs in 480 attempts (65.4 percent) and scooping up 240 ground balls... also scored nine goals and added two assists... had a career-best three goals in a loss at RIT on 3/30/13... had double digit ground ball totals in 16 games, twice totaling 19 (against Hartwick on 4/13/13 and against Elmira on 4/27/13)... won 20 or more face-offs in a game six times, including a career-best 23 of 29 against Hartwick... won 20 of 26 in E8 Playoff win over Utica on 5/1/13, 17 of 21 in the NCAA Playoffs vs. Castleton State on 5/8/13 and 22 of 30 in the NCAA Playoffs vs. Western New England on 5/11/13... named E8 Player of the Week for 4/15/13... recipient of team's Ground Ball Award.
2012: Simoneau enjoyed a strong first season for Nazareth... played in all 17 games and contributed 12 points on nine goals and three assists... also went 162 for 288 (.563) on face-offs with a team-best 107 ground balls... had three points on two goals, one assist in Nazareth's season opener against Springfield on 2/25/12... also scored twice in a 19-7 win at Utica on 3/28/12... went 22 for 31 on face-offs with 16 ground balls in a 21-10 win over Elmira on 4/28/12... went 15 for 20 on draws in a 10-9 win over Clarkson on 3/21/12, 16 for 18 in an 11-6 win over Alfred on 4/11/12 and 17 for 27 with 14 ground balls in a 14-12 loss to Stevens on 4/21/12... recipient of team's Ground Ball Award... earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors as a face-off specialist and named E8 Rookie of the Year.
Scholastic: a graduate of Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire, Simoneau played four seasons of varsity lacrosse... honored as a U.S. Lacrosse All-American for 2011 and an adidas All-American for 2010... also competed in football and hockey... attended Goffstown High School in New Hampshire for three years.
