Sean Thornton joined the Golden Flyers' athletics staff as an assistant coach for men's lacrosse in the summer of 2022.
Thornton was a four-year member of the Springfield College lacrosse team from 2016-2020 and was voted a captain in his senior season. Springfield won the New England Men's and Women's Athletics Conference (NEWMAC) championships in three of his four seasons. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in May of 2020 and finished his Masters of Science in December of 2022.
The Stony Brook, NY native was a Graduate Assistant Men's Lacrosse coach at Springfield for two seasons until June of 2022. He helped coordinate game and practice plans and was the defensive coordinator during his tenure. In 2022, he coached six NEWMAC all-conference selections.
