Nazareth College Athletics

Business Administration major… born 2/18/89… son of David Smith and Heather Trimble, Newmarket, Ont… returning for his second season, Smith played in 22 games in 2012-13 and had 11 points on one goal and 10 assists… lone goal was the overtime game-winner against Geneseo in the Golden Flyers’ first-ever game on 10/18/12… also led the team in penalties (17) and tied for team lead in penalty minutes (42)… had three assists in Nazareth’s 7-2 win at Brockport on 10/23/12… had two assists in a 9-6 win over Western New England on 12/7/12…

Before Nazareth: a graduate of Sir William Mulock Secondary School in Newmarket, Smith played in 2011-12 at Williston State Community College in North Dakota and had five goals, 23 assists in 29 games… earned first-team junior college All-American honors after leading Williston to national title game… played 2010-11 season at Northland College in Wisconsin and had three goals and five assists with 44 penalty minutes in 29 games… also has experience with the Niagara Falls Canucks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League and played 49 games in 2009-10 with seven goals, 24 assists and 150 penalty minutes… played lacrosse and rugby in high school.
