Biography
History and Finance major… born 7/27/91… son of Glen and Tammy Zdolshek, Parma, Ohio… returning for his fourth season with the Golden Flyers, Zdolshek started 21 games in 2014-15 and had a record of 11-7-3, including the first shutout in Nazareth history, a 5-0 home-ice win over Manhattanville on 11/21/14... amassed 628 saves to go with a 2.92 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage... had his first career assist in a 3-2 home-ice win over Neumann on 11/22/14... had 12 games with 30 or more saves, including a season-high of 47 in a 4-4 tie at Elmira on 12/5/14... earned second-team ECAC West all-star honors... named ECAC West Goalie of the Week three times (for 11/3/14, 11/24/14 and 2/2/15) and to ECAC West Honor Roll for 1/26/15... named to ECAC West All-Academic team.
2013-14: Zdolshek played in 24 games, including 22 as the starting goalie... had a 7-14-2 record with 712 saves for a 3.11 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage... had a season-best 46 saves in a 4-1 win at Geneseo on 1/25/14... had 40 saves in a 4-4 home-ice tie with Hobart on 11/8/13... had 37 saves in five other games... named ECAC West Goalie of the Week three times -- on 1/27/14, 2/10/14 and 2/24/14... named to ECAC West All-Academic team.
2012-13: played in 17 games for the Golden Flyers and posted a 4-11-0 record with 559 saves, a 4.31 goals-against average and a save percentage of .889… had a season-best 50 saves in the Golden Flyers’ first-ever game, a 3-2 overtime win over Geneseo on 10/18/12… had 44 saves in a 4-1 loss at Oswego on 1/12/13… named to the all-tournament team for the Skidmore Invitational after amassing 26 saves in a 4-2 win over Curry in the championship game on 11/25/12.
Before Nazareth: a graduate of St. Ignatius High in Cleveland, Zdolshek played four seasons as the starting goaltender and set school records for wins (57), save percentage (.928), goals-against average (1.68), shutouts (25) and saves in a game (74)… twice named Goaltender of the Year by the
Cleveland Plain Dealer… named team’s defensive MVP three times… played two seasons for the Ottawa Junior A Senators of the Central Canada Hockey League and earned league all-star honors… posted a record of 25-18-3 in 2011-12 with a 2.84 goals-against average, 1140 saves and a .897 save percentage… also won 13 games in 2010-11 with 1024 saves and a .901 save percentage… member of high school National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society and attended Ohio High School Leadership Conference.
