Nazareth head coach George Roll is pleased to have legendary coach Craig Dahl returning to his coaching staff in 2022-23 as a volunteer assistant coach.
Dahl was a college hockey head coach for 24 seasons before retiring after the 2004-05 season. He spent 18 seasons as head coach at Division I St. Cloud State in Minnesota and won 291 games there with five trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Dahl graduated from Pacific Lutheran University and had head coaching stints at Bethel College and Wisconsin-River Falls before becoming an assistant coach in 1986-87 at St. Cloud under Herb Brooks of Miracle on Ice fame. He became head coach at St. Cloud the following season.
After retiring in '05, Dahl joined the Principal Financial Group and relocated to Rochester in 2008. He served as a volunteer assistant at Geneseo for three seasons and helped the Knights reach the Division III Final Four in 2014.
