Nazareth College Athletics

Biochemistry major... born 01/06/95… son of Michael and Lisa Murray, Waterville, N.Y… returning for his fourth season of cross country, Murray ripped off a season-best 8k time of 28:03 to finish 49th at the Empire 8 Championships held in Houghton, N.Y. … ran 22:44.0 for 6 kilometers at the RPI Invitational at Saratoga.

2014: Murray placed 38th at the Empire 8 Conference meet with an 8-kilometer time of 28:20.2 at Saratoga State Park… also finished 173rd at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals with a time of 28:24.6 at Genesee Valley Park.

Track and field: Competed during both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2016... ran a career-best 1:09.37 in the 500-meter run at the RIT Tiger Invitational on 1/16/16 to finish in 11th place  … ran on the 4 x 400-meter relay team that won the E8 title with a winning time of 3:21.43... finished in 20th place at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:03.82. 

2015: Murray competed during the 2015 indoor and outdoor seasons… part of a 4 x 400-meter relay that posted a top time of 3:18.42 and won NYSCTC and Empire 8 Conference titles… also ran 2:03.52 for 800 meters and 4:31.16 for 1,500 meters… during the indoor season, Murray ran 1:09.68 in the 500-meter run and 1:59.42 in the 800-meter run... finished eighth in the 800 at the E8 Championship meet at Houghton on 2/14/15 and 10th in the same event at the NYSCTC meet at RIT on 2/28/15.

2014: Murray had top times of 4:53.27 in the mile, 1:09.59 in the 500-meter dash and 2:54.19 in the 1,000-meter run... best outdoor times were :53.96 in the 400-meter dash, 2:00.92 in the 800 and 4:23.45 in the 1,500.

Scholastic: a graduate of Waterville Central, Murray was a member of the cross country, basketball and track teams… a middle distance runner, Murray was selected team MVP in track and also earned Section Three all-star honors… competed in 4 x 800- and 4 x 400-meter relays that captured Center State Conference and Section Three titles… earned Section Three all-star honors in basketball and helped team to league title in 2013… served as class salutatorian and earned a New York State Regents Scholarship.
