Music Education major... daughter of Tara Furman, East Concord, N.Y... returning for her third season, Furman earned academic recognition on the National Academic Squad (3.30 GPA or higher) by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and on the Empire 8 Presidents' List (3.75 GPA or higher) for both the fall and spring semesters.

2020: Furman was chosen by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as a Scholar of Distinction that features a GPA of 3.90 of higher... also named to the NFHCA's National Academic Squad that requires a GPA of 3.30 and higher. and to the Empire 8 Presidents' List that requires a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

Scholastic: a graduate of Pioneer Senior High School, Furman played three seasons of varsity field hockey there... earned first-team Erie County Interscholastic Conference all-star honors in 2019, honorable mention in 2017 and 2018... also team captain, team MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in '19... helped team to Section Six title in 2018... United State Scholar-Athlete award winner for 2019 and recipient of Phyllis M. Johnston memorial Award in 2020... member of National Honor Society and winner of several scholarship awards, including the Friends of Pioneer Athletes Scholarship, the Music Department Scholarship and the Albert J. Bigelow Memorial Scholarship... played for Western New York Whalers Field Hockey Club.
