Katy Baron, former field hockey standout at the College of Wooster in Ohio, joined the Nazareth staff in 2014 as an assistant coach.
Baron played scholastically in suburban Chicago, then went on to excel from 2003 through 2006 at Wooster, where she was a two-time Great Lakes Regional all-star and a first-team North Coast Athletic Conference all-star in 2006. She also helped the Scots to conference titles in '03 and '06.
Since 2008, Baron has coached in the Chicago-based Windy City Field Hockey Club and has umpired for the Illinois High School Field Hockey Association. In 2013, she was an assistant coach at St. Ignatius High in Chicago.
At Nazareth, Baron is a graduate student in speech pathology in the deafness specialty program.
