Biography
Accounting major... son of Tim and Sue Fairley, Kingston, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Fairley performed well for the Golden Flyers in 2022-23, highlighted by a school-record time of 1:44.09 in leading off the 800 freestyle relay at the Allegheny/Empire 8 Conference championship meet at Webster Aquatics Center... team placed third in that event overall in 7:06.09... also had personal-bests in the 50 free (:22.01); the 100 free (:47.97) and the 100 backstroke (:56.19)... in addition to the 800 free relay, Fairley finished sixth in the 1,650 freestyle (17:30.91); seventh in the 500 free (4:49.61) and ninth in the 200 free (1:45.98); also part of fourth-place finishers in three relays -- the 200 free relay (1:26.57); the 400 medley relay (3:35.07) and the 400 free relay (3:11.60)... recipient of the team's Golden Flyer Award as the Most Improved Swimmer... named to the Academic All-District team (3.50 GPA minimum) by the College Sports Communicators... named to the Empire 8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 and above.
2021-22: Fairley won a pair of Empire 8 titles with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle and a top finish as a member of the 800 free relay ... also placed second in the 1650 free and was fifth in the 200 free ... also competed in the 200 and 400 free relays for Nazareth.
2020-21: Fairley was among the Golden Flyers' top first-year performers in the pandemic-shortened 2021 spring season... was a member of he 800 free relay team that finished first (7:05.15) at the Rochester Invitational... also third in the 200 free (1:46.55), fourth in the 1,650 free (17:15.36) and fifth in the 500 free (4:49.22)... recipient of the team's Hardest Worker Award.
Scholastic: a graduate of Kingston High School, Fairley competed in swimming, cross country and rowing... was a member of the varsity swim team for six seasons, competing mostly as a distance freestyler... served as team captain for two seasons and qualified for the state meet in the 200 and 500 freestyles... named team MVP in 2019... also competed for Tiger Aquatic Club... member of National Honor Society and recipient of AARP Scholarship and Budziak Memorial Scholarship.
