Biography

Taylor RobeyMaster of Music Education major... daughter of Beth Alden, Hurley, N.Y... team captain... returning for a fifth season that was granted due to the coronavirus pandemic, Robey served as the Golden Flyers' top performer once again during the shortened 2021 spring season... named team MVP for the fourth year in a row after leading the Golden Flyers to the team title at the Rochester Invitational at Webster Aquatic Center... part of seven winning events, including four relays -- the 200 medley (1:46.54), the 400 medley relay (3:57.21), the 200 free relay (1:38.00) and the 400 free relay (3:17.22)... also won the 50 free (:23.61), the 100 free (:50.93) and the 200 free (1:56.65)... broke her own school record in the 50 free with a :23.28 clocking while leading off the 200 free relay... despite cancellation of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, Robey was declared an All-American in the 50 and 100 freestyles for the second year in a row by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America... also named to the Scholar All-American team by the CSCAA... honored as E8 Athlete of the Week for 3/1/21 and 3/15/21... recipient of Robert A. Kidera Scholar-Athlete Award at the senior awards ceremony last spring.

2019-20: Robey enjoyed another spectacular season for the Golden Flyers in 2019-20 in earning team MVP honors for the third year in a row... named Empire 8 Swimmer of the Year after winning two individual events at the Allegheny Empire Conference meet and qualifying for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships... named as an All-American in the 50 freestyle after the championship meet was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic... broke her own school record in the 50 free (:23.43) in winning that event at the conference championship... also won the 100 freestyle (:51.78) and finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:56.86)... swam on three winning relays -- the 200 free relay (1:36.07), the 400 free relay (3:32.24) and the 200 medley relay (1:47.05)... also second in the 800 free relay (7:56.71)... named to the Empire 8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 and above... recognized as a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America... twice honored as E8 Athlete of the Week (for 11/11/19 and 1/20/20).

2018-19: Robey was spectacular in 2018-19 as she represented the Golden Flyers at the NCAA Division III Championship meet in Greensboro, N.C. after earning first-team Empire 8 all-conference honors in four events... named team MVP and E8 Swimmer of the Year after winning the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles as well as the 200 medley relay... set school records in the 50 free (:23.69) and the 100 free (:51.17)... went 1:55.19 in the 200 free and 1:48.66 in the 200 medley relay... also finished second in both the 200 free relay (1:39.04) and the 400 free relay (3:37.58) and third in the 400 medley relay (3:58.98)... finished 22nd in the 100 freestyle, 35th in the 50 freestyle and 40th in the 200 freestyle at the national meet... recognized as a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

2017-18: Robey was the Golden Flyers' top swimmer in 2017-18 as she won three Empire 8 Conference titles and was named the championships' Rookie of the Meet... finished first in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyles in :24.10 and :51.86 respectively... also anchored the winning 200 medley relay (1:49.26)... finished fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:58.45) and was part of three other top relays -- the 200 free relay (second, 1:38.57), the 400 medley relay (3:59.36) and the 400 free relay (3:40.12)... recipient of team's Most Valuable Swimmer Award... competed for the Golden Flyers' track and field team.

Scholastic: a graduate of Kingston High School, Robey was a six-year member of the swim team... won Section Nine title as well as Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association title in the 100 freestyle for 2016... was a four-time state meet qualifier in the 200 medley and 200 free relays as well as the 100 freestyle... school record-holder in those three events... served as swim team captain in '16... also competed for YMCA Hurricanes club team... a member of crew and track teams... recipient of Nazareth Presidential Scholarship and member of high school National Honor Society... ranked seventh in class of 386.
