Nazareth College Athletics

Physical Therapy major... son of Robert and Kristan Tomaka, Vestal, N.Y... returning for a fifth cross country season, Tomaka has been a consistent contributor for the Golden Flyers...  helped Nazareth claim its second straight E8 cross country title in the fall of 2021 by placing 12th at the Empire 8 Conference meet at Washington County Fairgrounds... personal-best 8k time of 26:45.7 was good for second-team all-conference honors... also finished in 77th place (27:42.7) at the NCAA Niagara regional race at Geneseo.... competed for the indoor and outdoor track and field teams in 2022 and was part of the 4x 800-meter relay (8:08.40) that finished first at the E8 outdoor meet... also fourth in the 1,500-meter run (4:17.87)... indoor season included third place in the mile (4:35.35) and fifth in the 800-meter run (2:03.28) at the E8 indoor meet.

2020-21: Tomaka helped Nazareth claim its first-ever Empire 8 Conference title by placing 10th overall at Houghton 4/9/21... 6k time of 19:48.6 earned him first-team all-conference honors... also ran well during the indoor and outdoor track seasons, highlighted by a fourth-place outdoor finish (8:05.83) in the 4x800-meter relay at the All-Atlantic Regional meet at St. John Fisher on 5/20/21... finished third in the 1,500 (4:14.67) and fourth in the 800 (2:03.77) at the E8 outdoor meet... earned second-team all-conference honors in the 3,000-meter run (9:06.28) during the indoor season... represented Nazareth on the E8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 and above.

2019-20: Tomaka ran regularly for the Golden Flyers in 2019 and placed 16th at the Empire 8 Conference meet on 11/2/19 at St. John Fisher... 8-kilometer time of 28:06.7 was good for second-team all-conference honors... competed at the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet at St. Lawrence and posted a time of 27:52.8... career-best 8k time of 26:49.1 on 10/5/19 at Houghton's Highlander Invitational was good for 21st place... represented the Golden Flyers on the Empire 8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 and above... ran well during the indoor track season and was a member of Nazareth's distance medley relay that placed first (10:58.37) at the Empire 8 Indoor Championships at Houghton... also finished third in the mile and fifth in the 3,000-meter run... had career-best times of 2:41.00 in the 1,000-meter run and 4:26.59 in the mile.

2018-19: Tomaka finished 36th at the Empire 8 Conference meet at Alfred on 11/10/18 with an 8-kilometer time of 32:49.9... ran 28:05.3 for 8k at Geneseo on 9/29/18... competed for the Golden Flyers' indoor and outdoor track and field teams and finished eighth in the 1,500-meter run (4:12.91) at the Empire 8 outdoor meet... finished 10th in the 3,000-meter run (9:13.67) at he E8 indoor meet...other top times included 4:43.01 in the mile indoors and 16:06.74 in the 5,000-meter run indoors.

Scholastic: a graduate of Vestal Central, Tomaka competed in cross country and track and field there... excelled in the 4x400-meter relay during the indoor track season and earned first-team all-star honors in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference... also earned all-conference honors for the 1,600-meter run... a 12-time scholar-athlete award winner and an AP scholar... recipient of Triple Cities Runners Club Scholarship and an Eagle Scout award winner.
