Biography
Physical Therapy major. . . daughter of David Brown, Jamesville, N.Y. and Terri Fox, Oxford, N.Y. . . returning for her fourth track and field season, Brown served as an assistant coach for the cross country team last fall after completing her eligibility in that sport in 2007. . . she was a four-time team MVP in cross country and became the Golden Flyers' first national qualifier in 2007 as she competed in the NCAA Division III Championship meet in Minnesota and finished 177th. . . earned Empire 8 Conference all-star honors in 2006 and 2007. . . earned Academic All-American honors for '06 and '07. . . did not compete for the track team in 2008, but still holds the indoor record for the 1,000-meter run (3:07.72) and the outdoor mark for the 1,500-meter run (4:50.79). . . also holds records for thr 4 x 400-meter relay and the 4 x 800-meter relay. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Oxford Academy, Brown competed in track and tennis there. . . won league title in the 1,500-meter run and holds school record in that event (5:01.75) plus the 800-meter run (2:27.90). . . competed in singles and doubles in tennis and earned all-league honors in 2003. . . earned scholar-athlete award and U.S. Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence award. . . served as valedictorian for Class of ’04.
