Nazareth College Athletics

Visual Communication Design major ... daughter of Thomas and Alyson Szumloz of Cicero, N.Y... returning for her fifth track and field season, Szumloz earned second-team all-conference in two events at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships, taking second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.46) and also was part of the second-place 4 x 400-meter relay (4:04.99)... was on the 4 x 100-meter relay team (50.87) that finished third... at the Empire 8 Indoor Championships, part of the 4 x 400-meter relay that took second (4:05.62) and earned second-team all-conference.. set career-best times in 400 hurdles (1:04.39), 400-meter dash (59.61), 200-meter dash (27.50), and the 60-meter hurdles (9.78). 

2020-21: Szumloz was among the Golden Flyers' top performers during the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2021 as she scored in multiple events at the Empire 8 Conference meets... was part of the victorious 4 x 400-meter relay during the indoor meet (4:14.69)... also placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of :10.01, third in the 200-meter dash (:28.46) and fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:04.11)... outdoor season featured three first-place finishes at the E8 meet as she ran on the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:09.64) and won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.94) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.50)... named E8 Athlete of the Week for 5/17/21... represented the Golden Flyers at the All-Atlantic Regional meet and finished seventh in the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:04.07) and eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.59).

2019-20: Szumloz competed during the 2020 indoor season and had top times of :10.79 in the 60-meter hurdles and :29.32 in the 200-meter dash... finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles at the Empire 8 Conference meet at Houghton... a defender on the Golden Flyers' field hockey team, Szumloz was a second-team E8 all-star selection in 2019 in helping Nazareth reach the conference championship game.

2018-19: Szumloz competed both indoors and outdoors in 2019 and gained second-team Empire 8 all-star recognition in the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:08.20) during the outdoor season... other top times included 1:05.03 in the 400-meter dash, 1:30.84 in the 500-meter dash and 1:11.89 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Scholastic: a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, Szumloz was a five-year member of the track and field team and is the indoor school record-holder in the 500-meter dash... also excelled in the 400-meter hurdles... played two seasons of varsity field hockey and was a second-team Onondaga League all-star as a senior... recipient of Nazareth Presidential Scholarship.
