Nazareth College Athletics

History Education major...  son of Jim and Deb Coatsworth, Elma, N.Y... team captain... returning for his fourth season, Coatsworth was among the Golden Flyers' top performers in 2017-18 as he broke his own school record in the 100 breaststroke (:58.96) with a sixth-place finish at the Empire 8 Conference meet... also part of three record-breaking relays -- the 200 medley relay (1:33.16) that finished first; the 200 free relay (1:24.34) that finished second; and the 400 medley relay (3:26.15) that finished second... also swam fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.06) and fifth in the 200 IM (1:58.07).

2016-17: Coatsworth was the 2016-17 recipient of the Golden Flyer Award as the team's Most Improved Swimmer... set school record in the 100 breaststroke (:59.30) with a 13th-place finish at the UNYSCSCA/Empire 8 Conference meet... also part of school record in the 200 free relay (1:27.27) that finished ninth... placed eighth in the 200 medley relay (1:36.54); ninth in the 400 IM (4:13.30) and 14th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.24).

2015-16: Coatsworth enjoyed a solid first season with the Golden Flyers in 2015-16... placed 17th in the 400 IM (4:20.37) at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet... also 21st in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.18) and 23rd in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.92)... part of school record breaking 400 medley relay team (3:30.26).

Scholastic: a graduate of Iroquois High School, Coatsworth spent six seasons there as a varsity swimmer... served as team captain as a junior and senior and was a three-time team MVP... won seven Erie County Interscholastic League titles and seven Section Six titles... set school record in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.70)... also competed for the Tri-Town Aquatic Club for 10 years... recipient of Ron Miley Memorial Award and Whitey Huber Leadership Award... a four-year member of the chrorus and band... member of National Honor Society and Honor Roll.
