Communication and Media major. . . born 11/19/90... son of Russell Wheeler and Jill Harding, Macclesfield, England... returning to the Golden Flyers after missing all of the 2013 season due to a knee injury… started all 16 of Nazareth’s games in 2012 and earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors… finished first on the team in scoring with 27 points on 10 goals and seven assists… his 27 points was the seventh-best all-time in single-season scoring… opened the season with a pair of goals in Nazareth’s 4-2 win over Canton (8/31/12) and had the Golden Flyers’ goals in a 3-2 loss to Elmira (9/22/12)… also scored against Oswego (9/8/12), Utica (9/15/12), Union (9/25/12), Stevens (9/29/12), Houghton (10/6/12), and Alfred (10/27/12)… recorded two assists against Oswego and had single-assist games against Canton, Utica, Geneseo (10/3/12), Houghton, and Buffalo State (10/23/12)… Wheeler ranks 11th all-time in scoring at Nazareth with 54 points on 17 goals and 20 assists in 47 career games… his 20 assists rank first all-time.
2011: Wheeler played in 14 games in and tied for team scoring honors with Ryan Foley as each amassed 16 points on five goals, six assists… scored game-winning goal with just 10 seconds left in overtime of a 2-1 win over Brockport on 09/04/11… also scored goals in road games against Utica (09/17/11), Union (09/27/11), Geneseo (10/04/11) and St. John Fisher (10/07/11)… had assists on both goals in a 2-1 home-field win over Ithaca on 10/22/11… earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors and third-team Northeast Region all-star honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
2010: made an immediate impact for the Golden Flyers as he started 17 matches... finished third on the team in scoring with 11 points on two goals and a team-best seven assists... recorded his first collegiate point with an assist against Oswego (9/10/10) and scored his first career goal against Utica (10/2/10)... also scored against Elmira (10/23/10) and had assists against Messiah (9/11/10), Ithaca (10/2/10), St. John Fisher (10/16/10) and Buffalo State (10/19/10)... tallied two assists against Alfred (10/9/10), which was the first of four consecutive matches in which Wheeler recorded at least one point... earned second-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors.
