Physical Therapy major…son of John and Carolyn DeHority, Rochester, N.Y… returning for his fourth season, DeHority enjoyed a strong season in 2008 as he appeared in 122 games and led the team in digs with 286 (2.34 per game) and also delivered 98 kills and a team-best .412 hitting percentage. . . earned first-team all-star honors in the NECVA Western Division and was named to all-tournament teams at Stevens and Endicott. . . had a career-high 28 kills and a .500 hitting percentage in a five-set victory over Baruch 1/26/08. . . reached double digits in digs 12 times, including a season-high of 16 at East Stroudsburg 1/25/08. . . 2007: led the Golden Flyers with 223 digs (2.53 per game) while adding 63 kills and 12 aces in 88 games... reached double figures in digs in 13 matches with a season-best of 16 vs. Rivier 3/3/07. . . missed last six matches due to appendicitis. . . 2006: appeared in 104 games and leading the team with 295 digs (2.84 per game). . . also had 33 kills and a .382 hitting percentage. . . named team’s Defensive Player of the Year and selected to all-tournament team for Nazareth Invitational. . . reached double figures in digs 16 times, including a career-best 20 digs vs. Newbury 2/25/06. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, DeHority played two years of varsity volleyball there…served as team captain and was named team MVP…garnered first team Monroe County league all-star honors and was named to the Section Five all-tournament team… 2004 team finished 18-4 overall and reached the sectional semifinals…in 2003, C-C won Section Five and state titles and finished 27-0…a member of 2004 Western Region team that captured a gold medal at Empire State Games…played club volleyball for the Pace Bootlegger Volleyball Club…served as team captain... also played four years of varsity tennis…served as co-captain during junior and senior years… placed third at sectionals during his senior year and was named first team all-county…member of National Honor Society as well as Foreign Language Honor Society.
