Nazareth College Athletics

Physical Therapy major... born 08/05/93... daughter of Michael and Kathleen Sowyrda, Grafton, Mass... returning for her fourth season, Sowyrda started all 20 games as a midfielder for the Golden Flyers in 2013 and contributed two goals and three assists for seven points… scored in a 2-0 win over Geneseo on 9/6/13 and in a 3-1 win over Stevens in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament on 11/9/13.

2012: played in 18 games, including three as a starter, and contributed two goals and three assists… scored in a 2-0 win over Houghton on 9/26/12 and had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Alfred on 10/17/12.

2011: appeared in 12 games, including one as a starter… scored her first career goal in a 2-0 win at Utica on 10/09/11.

Scholastic: a graduate of Grafton High School, Sowyrda was a standout on the varsity soccer team for four seasons... was named an all-state player and a Worcester Telegram & Gazette super-team all-star in 2010... received Southern Worcester County League and Central Massachusetts all-star accolades in 2009 and 2010... recipient of 2010-11 Grafton High Female Athlete of the Year and team MVP honors... also competed on the varsity track and field team for two seasons and was named a Worcester County League all-star and was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team that won the Southern Worcester County League Championship in 2008... served as an Executive Board Member, Vice President and Delegate on Region Executive Board as a member of student council... also earned GHS Athletic Boosters, Grafton Youth Soccer Club and David & Margaret Harvey Scholarships and was a member of National Honor Society.
