History Education major. . . born 3/4/91... son of Paul and Joan Monachino, Elmira, N.Y... back for his fourth season, Monachino was the 2011-12 recipient of Nazareth’s Most Improved Swimmer Award after placing 20th in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet with career-best times in each (1:01.69 and 2:17.29 respectively)…
2010-11: represented Nazareth at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships... swam the second leg of the 400-yard and 800-yard relay that finished 12th and 25th (3:19.21 and 7:57.82, respectively)... Monachino also placed 14th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.53)...
2009-10: Monachino posted top times for the Golden Flyers in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.85) and the 200 breaststroke (2:23.50)... recipient of the Golden Flyer Award as the team's Most Improved Swimmer... placed 13th in the 100 breast and 16th in the 200 breast at the Empire 8 Conference meet...
Scholastic: a graduate of Southside High School, Monachino was a three-year member of the varsity swimming team... Monachino was named Swimmer of the Year in 2009 and was a team captain during his senior season... set school record as a member of the 200 medley relay team... as a member of the 200 medley relay, he finished second in Class A Section Four in 2009... helped team to second place in Class A Section Four.
