Physical Therapy major... born 9/27/91... son of Thomas and Janet Houghtalen, West Charlton, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Houghtalen enjoyed a break-out season for the Golden Flyers in 2012 as he appeared in 31 matches and 111 sets overall... amassed a team-high 269 kills (2.42 per set) to go with a .211 hitting percentage... also had 24 service aces, 141 digs and 50 blocks... reached double digits in kills 15 times, including a career-high 19 kills vs. Milwaukee School of Engineering... had a match-high 14 kills in a five-set win over Stevens for the United Volleyball Conference title on 4/15/12...

2011: Houghtalen played in 12 matches and 33 sets overall... had 54 kills, 12 digs and 12 blocks... produced a pair of eight-kill matches -- vs. SUNYIT on 3/6/11 and at Hilbert on 3/8/11... hit 7-1-10 (.600) vs. SUNYIT on 3/26/11 and 7-2-12 (.417) vs. Johnson & Wales on 2/19/11...

2010: appeared in nine matches and 12 sets overall in 2010... contributed 11 kills, nine digs and seven blocks...

Scholastic: a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, Houghtalen played three seasons of varsity volleyball there... helped team to regional finals three times and a regional title in 2007... earned academic honors in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
