Nazareth College Athletics

Business Administration major... born 6/18/92… son of Timothy and Carolyn Lafaver, Syracuse, N.Y… returning for his fourth season, Lafaver ran in all eight of the Golden Flyers’ cross country races during the 2012 season… at the 8-kilometer NYSCTC meet in Fairport, Lafaver placed 101st in 29:07… finished 41st at the 8-kilometer Empire 8 meet at Saratoga with a time of 29:06, and placed 240th at the 8-kilometer NCAA Atlantic Regionals meet with a time of 30:06… Lafaver continues to be a leader of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams, and he was recognized as the Empire 8 Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and Empire 8 Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year… won the outdoor 800-meter conference title with a time of 1:57.17, then ran a 1:52.97 at Oneonta, which placed him 26th nationally in Division III… during the indoor season, Lafaver won the conference title in the 400-meter dash with a time of :51.56, and won the 800-meter title at the NYSCTC meet… Lafaver’s best indoor time in the 800-meter event was 1:53.24 at the ECAC meet in March…

2011: ran regularly for the Golden Flyers in 2011 and finished 50th in 29:43 for 8 kilometers at the Empire 8 Conference meet in Saratoga… also a member of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams, Lafaver placed third in the 400-meter dash at both the Empire 8 Conference meet (:50.37) and the NYSCTC meet (:50.17)… also third in the 400 at the E8 Indoor championships (:51.80)… set a school indoor record in the 500-meter dash (1:07.66) at Kane Invitational at Cornell on 2/11/12… 

2010: competed in all eight of the Golden Flyers’ cross country meets and finished 59th (25:17—6.4 km) in his first collegiate meet at Colgate, 52nd (22:35—6 km) at the Hamilton Invitational, 17th (23:10—6 km) at Nazareth’s Invitational, 81st (29:56—8 km) at the NYSCTC meet, 53rd (29:31—8 km) at the Empire 8 Conference meet, and 235th (30:16) at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals... was one of the Golden Flyers top track performers during both the indoor and outdoor seasons...finished fourth in the 400-meter dash (:51.43) at the NYSCTC Indoor Meet, then seventh in the same event (:50.55) at the NYSCTC Outdoor Meet...

Scholastic: a graduate of West Genesee High School along with twin brother Zach, Lafaver was a fixture on the track and cross country teams there… recipient of Coaches Award and Wildcat Award for outdoor track...won Onondaga League title in 200- and 400-meter dashes in outdoor track in 2010...also won Section Three title in the 400 and was part of the 4 x 400-meter relay team that placed 11th at state meet...indoor season included first-place finish in the 600-meter dash at state meet and a sixth-place finish at nationals in the 4 x 800-meter race...also placed 15th in the 400-meter dash at state outdoor championships in 2009.
