Physical Therapy major… born 10/18/90... daughter of Matthew and Lucy Phipps, Lockport, N.Y... returning for her fourth season, Phipps continued to swim well for the Golden Flyers in 2010-11... was among the team's top performers at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet, where she finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle and fifth in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly... ranks second all-time in the 50 free (:24.35) and the 100 free (:52.61) and third in the 200 free (1:56.55)... broke a 16-year-old school record and an 11-year-old pool record in the 100-meter freestyle (1:00.05) on 11/20/10... is part of school records in all five relays: 200 free relay (1:38.53); 400 free relay (3:34.74); 800 free relay (7:52.01); 200 medley relay (1:47.99) and the 400 medley relay (3:56.05)... recipient of team's High Point Award as Most Valuable Swimmer...
2009-10: Phipps' rapid improvement continued as she posted team-best times in the 50 free (:24.57), 100 free (:53.40) and the 200 free (1:57.00)... also competed in the 100 backstroke (1:03.75) and the 100 fly (1:02.25)... made second-team all-conference in the 800 free relay... finished sixth in the 50 free, fourth in the 100 free and fifth in the 200 free at the Empire 8 Conference meet... recipient of the team's Golden Flyer Award as the Most Improved Swimmer for the second year in a row...
2008-09: finished 12th in the 50 free, 11th in the 100 free and ninth in the 100 fly at the Empire 8 Conference meet... earned the team's Golden Flyer Award as the Most Improved Swimmer/Diver...
Scholastic: a graduate of Royalton-Hartland, Phipps was a member of the varsity swimming team for one season... earned the MVP Award, and was the Niagara-Orleans Genesee Regional Invitational champion in the 50-yard freestyle in addition to setting the school record in the 100-yard freestyle... also a member of the cross country and track and field teams... eaned Most Improved Person Award for cross country... also recognized as the M.I.P. in field events and a member of the school-record 4x400-meter relay team... won the Niagara-Orleans 4x400 title and helped track and field team to Niagara-Orleans League Championship... additionally, Phipps auditioned for and was accepted at the Boston Ballet Summer Program, the Chautaugua Institute of Fine Arts Ballet Summer Program, and the NYS Summer School of the Arts... was named the Female Student of the Year, earned the Royalton-Hartland Scholar-Athlete Award, was a four-year recipient of High Honor Roll, and earned several additional academic honors.
