Physical Therapy major. . . born 04/10/90... son of Scott and Cindy Rutan, Macedon, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Rutan competed in all eight of the Golden Flyers’ meets in 2010... top performances included finishing 32nd (21:12—6 km) at the Hamilton Invitational, 36th (28:30—8 km) at Roberts Wesleyan, 10th (22:38—6 km) at the Nazareth Invitational, 58th (28:12—8 km) at the NYSCTC meet, 39th (28:23—8 km) at the Empire 8 Conference Championship meet, and 188th (28:44—8 km) at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals... also competes for the Golden Flyers indoor and outdoor track teams... finished 13th in the 1,500-meter run (4:32.90) at the Empire 8 Outdoor Meet...
2009: placed 211th (29:47.7) at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional meet... 53rd place (30:01) at the Empire 8 Championship... 64th place (29:15.61) at the NYSCTC meet... recipient of the Empire 8 All-Conference Sportsman of the Year award...
2008: recipient team's Coaches' Award following the cross country season... placed 72nd at the Buffalo State Invitational (31:34), 52nd at the Colgate Invitational (23:06), 83rd at the Western Ontario 10-K Invitational (40:35), 183rd at Pre-Nationals (30:13), 36th at Nazareth's 6-K Invitational (23:41), 197th at the Empire 8 Championship meet (29:36), 67th at the NYSCTC meet (30:44) and 190th at the Atlantic Regionals (30:32)... during the outdoor track and field season, Rutan placed 20th in the 400-meter dash at the Muhlenberg Invitational (:53.3), 11th in the 1,500-meter run at the Conference championship meet (4:27.3), and 38th in the 1,500-meter run at the Geneseo Open (4:37.36)...
Scholastic: a graduate of Wayne Central, Rutan competed on the indoor and outdoor track and field teams for three seasons and ran for the cross country team for two seasons. . . Section Five Class B Champion in the 600-meter event during the indoor season. . . Rutan earned the Coaches' Award in 2007 and was named team MVP as a senior following the cross country and indoor track seasons. . . recipient of Eagle Scout award.
