ELMIRA, NY - The Nazareth Women's Hockey Team won over Elmira 4-3 in a tightly contested match-up Saturday night. The Golden Flyers improve 20-0-1 overall and 10-0 in UCHC, while Elmira falls 12-5-2 overall and 6-2-1 in UCHC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Elmira stuck first in the opening period, capitalizing late to take a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play. Nazareth had chances, but the Soaring Eagles held the edge early.

The Golden Flyers responded in the second period with a pair of goals to swing momentum. Elmira answered back to keep the contest tight, and the teams entered the third period tied, setting up a dramatic finish.

Nazareth took control early in the third when Logan Marchese scored on the power play at 5:38, finishing a setup from Allie Zack and Nikki Sharp to even the score at 3-3.

With the time winding down, Marchese delivered the decisive moment. At 18:51, she buried an even-strength goal off an assist from Brooke Judkiewicz, giving Nazareth a 4-3 lead.

Elmira pulled its goalie in the final minute, but the Golden Flyers' defense held strong to secure the win.
