Men's Soccer Draws with Baruch College, 0-0

POTSDAM, NY - A strong offensive effort from the Nazareth men's soccer team was overshadowed by Baruch's goalkeeper who stood tall in a physical battle on Friday afternoon in the Potsdam Tournament.

How it Happened:

  • In the first half, The Golden Flyers carried pace of play and generated a handful of chances at the Baruch goal, out shooting Baruch 7-0.

  • The best chance of the first half came in the 30th minute off a Nazareth throw-in where Samuel Burton's header at the lower right corner was stopped by the Baruch goalkeeper

  • The second half began with Baruch creating some chances, but goaltender Bryan Tirado stood tall.

  • In the 69th minute Carson Keller had a golden opportunity off a cross by Tyler Warmington but the Baruch goaltender made a fantastic stop. The follow up chance kicked back out to Tyler Warmington who drilled one off the crossbar to keep the game scoreless.

  • After this opportunity, Nazareth rediscovered its first half form and began taking over the game once again.

  • A free kick by Quentin Herrmann in the 87th minute gave Nazareth one final chance as a header by Gibson Spector was turned aside right in front of the Baruch goal.

  • Nazareth finished the game with 14 shots to Baruch's 6 shots.

What's Next:

  • The Golden Flyers are back in action tomorrow for game two of the Potsdam Tournament at 1:30pm against SUNY ESF
