Women’s Soccer Comes Alive in Second Half to Win 2-0 Over Keuka

ROCHESTER, NY - A dominant second half performance by the Golden Flyers with goals from Carolina Lott-Diamond and Tatum Overton helped secure their second Empire 8 win of the season.

How it Happened:

  • The game began as a defensive battle through the first 25 minutes, with each team only registering one shot

  • The first half ended fairly even, with Nazareth gaining the edge in shots 6-3, and corners 3-2

  • Nazareth began the second half very strong when in the 48th minute, Carolina Lott-Diamond fed Shannon Scombick for a grade A opportunity that was turned aside by the Keuka goalkeeper

  • That chance generated a corner kick where Alice O'Connor's kick found Carolina Lott-Diamond who headed it past the goalkeeper for a 1-0 Nazareth lead

  • In the 59th minute, Taylor Ashe, Kiyomi Mastro, and Helena Reihs all were able to get shots on goal, but the Keuka goalkeeper stood tall

  • Later on, Haley Dennison drew a penalty kick with 15 minutes to play. The Golden Flyers selected Tatum Overton to take it and she made no mistake, scoring top right to extend the lead to 2-0

  • The Golden Flyers finished the game outshooting Keuka 27-5, with 17 of those shots being on goal
