Pittsford, NY – The Golden Flyers' men's cross country team traveled down East Avenue for a 6K race at St. John Fisher's Rodenbeck Invitational to open the season. Nazareth finished third out of 10 teams with a total of 95 points. Geneseo finished first with 17 points, followed by PSU-Behrend with 87 points, then the Golden Flyers.
How it Happened:
- Senior Cameron Almy was Nazareth's top finisher in eighth-place with a time of 19:46.5.
- In his first collegiate meet, freshman Rylan Powell was the second Golden Flyer to cross the finish line. He was 21st with a time of 20:10.8.
- Senior Connor Jackson placed 32nd and was Nazareth's third finisher with a time of 20:26.5.
- Junior Brennan Farr (20:43.4) and freshman Kaedan Leonidas (20:44.0) finished back-to-back in 40th and 41st as the fourth and fifth Nazareth finishers.
- Sophomore Thuan Nguyen and freshman Edward Popp were the Golden Flyers' displacers after finishing 44th and 46th, respectively. Nguyen crossed the line with a time of 20:55.2, and Popp's time was 20:57.2.
Quick Facts:
- Almy (20:51.0), Jackson (21:27.8), and Farr (21:13.4) improved on their times from last year's Rodenbeck Invitational.
- Geneseo's score of 17 points missed a perfect score of 15 by two points.
