Women's Lax Blanks Keuka, 16-0

KEUKA PARK, NY - The Nazareth Women's Lacrosse team defeated Keuka College on Wednesday night at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex for the 16-0 shutout win. 
 
The Golden Flyers notch another win to improve to 8-4 overall (4-0 E8) and the Wolves fall to 4-5 overall (1-3 E8).
 
Senior Sophia Scialdone kicked off the scoring approximately 50 seconds into the game off a ground ball from classmate Makenna Misiurewicz. Junior Marisa Rosati was one of three Golden Flyers who notched their first career goals this game, as her goal with just under six minutes remaining in the first half gave Naz a 6-0 lead. By the end of the first half, Naz was up by 10 goals.
 
Graduate student Emily Paddock scored her seventh goal of the season halfway through the third quarter, with the assist credited to freshman Isabella Bonventre for the 12-0 lead. Sophomore Kathryn Verdine scored in the last ten seconds of the quarter for her first-career goal and the 13-0 lead heading into the last 15 minutes of play.
 
Freshman Amber Enright scored her first collegiate goal in the final few minutes of play to round out the final score of 16-0. 
 
Four Golden Flyers managed to net multiple goals this afternoon: Misiurewicz, Scialdone, sophomore Megan Martin, and graduate student Liddie Hoare.
 
Additionally, juniors Grace Gardner and Sydney Dann, and senior Katherine McPeak had multi-point games.
 
Allie Klestinec got the win for the Golden Flyers, while Gianna Tantalo saw and saved two shots-on-goal to complete the shutout.
 
Nazareth went 16-for-17 on their clears, notched 22 caused turnovers, landed 25 shots-on-goal, and made 30 ground balls as a team.
 
The Golden Flyers next face-off against SUNY Geneseo away on Saturday (4/12) at 1pm.
