ROCHESTER, NY – Junior
Allie Klestinec made a season-high 15 saves, but it was not enough, as the 16
th-ranked St. John Fisher Cardinals handed the Nazareth women's lacrosse team a 16-7 loss on Saturday at NLPA Field.
Nazareth drops to 9-6 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while the Cardinals remain unbeaten at 14-0 and 7-0, respectively.
The first quarter was the quietist of all, with just three goals being scored. Nazareth's goal came from
Liddie Hoare.
Fisher scored three-straight in the second before
Sophia Scialdone netted one of her two goals in the quarter. Nazareth trailed 9-3 at the half.
Scialdone led Nazareth with three goals.
Nazareth closed with the final two goals of the third quarter to pull within 13-7, behind goals from Hoare and
Katherine McPeak. McPeak finished with two goals and a team-high four ground balls.
The Golden Flyers were held without a goal in the fourth.
Nazareth returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Brockport at 4 pm.
