ROCHESTER, NY - The Golden Flyers were shutout on Saturday afternoon by Geneseo, who now improves to 17-1. This marks the fifth loss for Nazareth on the season and its second in conference play. The Golden Flyers have clinched an Empire 8 Tournament postseason berth and will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Empire 8 Tournament as they hold head-to-head tiebreakers on both St. John Fisher and Houghton. Nazareth will host the No. 6 seed in a first-round game on Saturday, Nov. 1.
How It Happened:

Geneseo carried play in the first quarter, outshooting Nazareth 7-0. However goalkeeper Lauren Bachner stood tall, making two saves, including a great save on a penalty stroke to keep the game scoreless.

Geneseo was able to solve goalkeeper Lauren Bachner in the second quarter, scoring two quick goals just a minute apart to take a 2-0 lead.

With 2:47 left to play in the quarter, it looked like the Golden Flyers cut the lead to one, but the goal was disallowed. The score remained 2-0 and that is how the half ended.

The first half shots would end with Geneseo leading 13-5.

The 3rd quarter was more of the same as Geneseo was able to generate more opportunities but Nazareth held strong, keeping the Geneseo lead to 2-0.

With 9 minutes to play in the 4th quarter, Geneseo would score again to take a 3-0 lead and then three minutes later would make it 4-0 with the goal coming off of a penalty corner.

The shots finished 29-7 in favor of Geneseo.
