Box Score GENESEO, NY – The Nazareth University Women's field hockey team opened up Empire 8 play on Wednesday, falling 7-0 to SUNY Geneseo.
 
The game was each team's first Empire 8 game. Nazareth's record is now 0-1 in E8 play (1-3 overall), while the Knights now stand 1-0 for E8 play (6-1 overall).
 
Sophomore goaltender Morgan Russo faced 23 shots in total for 16 saves, while the Golden Flyers managed one shot on goal.
 
The Nazareth defensive squad faced 15 corners throughout the game, a high so far for the team this season.
 
The Golden Flyers look to improve their record on the road Saturday, where they face-off against Keystone College in La Plume, PA at 4 p.m.
