PENN YAN, NY –
Ava Malvaso was the individual champion with an 83 (+11) and the Nazareth team finished first overall (355 for a +67) at the Keuka College Fall Invitational hosted at Lakeside Country Club on Tuesday. Nazareth tied with Geneseo for first out of four teams (355 for a +67), followed by Keuka (426 for a +138), and William Smith (484 for a +196).
Ava Malvaso shot for par in nine out of the 18 holes, earning herself a first-place finish with an 83 (+11). Malvaso only shot one stroke clear of the runner-up, teammate
Kayla Ringler, who shot an 84 (+12).
Bethany Wineburg was the next scorer for Nazareth, coming in 8
th place overall with a score of 93 (+21).
Kara Kopyt also earned points for the Golden Flyers, finishing two strokes behind Wineburg with a 95 (+23).
Julia de Masi also competed and earned herself a score of 99 (+27).
The Golden Flyers will head back to Keuka for another invitational on Sunday, September 22
nd for their next match.
