ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Field Hockey shut out Elmira 5-0 on Saturday afternoon. Each of Nazareth's three seniors scored a goal on their senior day. With this win, Nazareth has earned its first winning season since 2007, and has compiled the most conference wins in Nazareth Field Hockey history.

Michaela Cushman opened the scoring for Nazareth early with an unassisted goal in under two minutes of game play.

Later on, the three seniors put together a beautiful play for
Hannah Janes to score a goal from
Madison Chodkowski and
Lydia Coombs. The Golden Flyers closed the quarter with a two-goal lead.

In the second quarter, Chodkowski connected with Coombs at the 17:16 minute mark to give Nazareth its third goal of the game. This was the only goal of the quarter, and the Golden Flyers went into the second half leading 3-0. In the first half, Nazareth's defense held Elmira to zero shots.

Three minutes into the third quarter, Chodkowski got her goal off of assists by Cushman and Janes to round out the seniors' scoring run. A save by
Lauren Bachner allowed the Golden Flyers to enter the final quarter with a four-goal lead.

In the last quarter
Hailey Dimao scored a goal off a penalty stroke at 55:34. Three saves from
Madilyn Satter held Elmira scoreless, and gave Nazareth the 5-0 win.

The Golden Flyers will host Empire 8 quarterfinals on Monday, November 4th at 6 p.m. against number five St. John Fisher. The winner will play at 4 p.m. at Geneseo (#1) on Thursday.
