Men's Soccer Draws with SUNY Poly

UTICA, NY-  Nazareth's stellar defense helped the Golden Flyers to a no score game against the SUNY Poly Wildcats in an Empire 8 Conference match-up Wednesday night.  
 
Nazareth was able to create more corners on the Wildcats (5-3), which helped them to penetrate shots on net, but struggled to find the back of it. 
 
The Golden Flyers had an even match-up with the Wildcats in the first half, though Nazareth out-shot Poly 7-6. 
 
In the 41st minute, senior Drew Decker had an opportunity, almost putting the Golden Flyers on the scoreboard, but the Wildcats goalie made the save. Decker created almost half the shots taken within the first half.
 
The score remained 0-0 heading into the second half. 
 
Both teams entered the second half determined to score a goal.
 
In the 63rd minute, goalie Logan Menna had a phenomenal save to keeping the score at 0-0.
 
It was a physical match up until the last minute and both teams were evenly matched until the final buzzer.
 
SUNY Poly out shot the Golden Flyers 12-11.
 
Logan Menna had 2 saves. 
 
The Golden Flyers return to action away against Elmira College Saturday the 26th at 4 p.m.
