BROCKPORT, NY – In the first road trip of the season, the Nazareth University Field Hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision as Brockport scored three first-half goals and added two in the final quarter for the victory.
Sophomore goalie Lauren Bachner started the game and made three saves before fellow sophomore Madilyn Satter came in and finished with 10 saves as the duo combined for 13 saves for Nazareth (0-3) and Brockport held a 26-3 advantage in shots and had a 20-1 edge in shots on goal.
Despite the shots advantage, Brockport (1-0) had a slim 6-5 advantage in penalty corners.
The Golden Eagles had a pair of goals in the first quarter and increased the lead with a single goal in the second period.
Neither team scored in the third quarter and Brockport added a pair of late goals for the final margin of victory.
Nazareth returns to action at 5:15 p.m. Friday with another non-conference road game at Skidmore in Saratoga Springs.
