th-ranked St. Lawrence scored the first five goals of the game and managed a 16-11 victory on Saturday in the Golden Flyers final game before their Spring Break trip next week to Florida. Senior
Braeden McKercher tied a season-high with four goals to lead Nazareth on the offensive end.
Nazareth falls to 1-5 on the season with the loss, while the nationally-ranked Saints move to 3-0.
Similar to its game against Ithaca on Wednesday, Nazareth got down in a hole early, falling behind 5-0 midway through the first quarter.
Louis Cogliandro kept his hot streak alive, scoring Nazareth's first goal just over eight minutes into the contest.
Mckercher added the next two goals and it was 8-3 in favor of the Saints after a quarter of play.
The lead remained five for St. Lawrence at halftime, 10-5, as each team added a pair of goals in the second, McKercher netting his third, along with
Jack McOsker. McOsker finished with two goals in the game.
The face-off circle proved to be a big difference as the Saints won 24-of-31 in the game.
In the third quarter, Nazareth was able to claw within 11-8 on Cogliandro's second of the day with 5:24 on the clock. That was as close as the Golden Flyers would come in the game after falling behind early. The Saints scored the next three goals after that to open up some cushion.
After being held in single digits for goals in each of the last three games, the Golden Flyers were able to hit the double-digit mark when
Quinn McKercher scored on the man-up midway through the fourth quarter to make the score 14-10.
William O'Neill added two goals in the fourth quarter, to go along with an assist.
Eric Almquist finished with 16 saves in net.
Nazareth will leave Monday for Florida, taking on Bowdoin on Wednesday at the University of Tampa. The Golden Flyers will take on Western New England later in the week on Saturday.
