PITTSFORD, NY – Freshman Rylee Keiffer earned a tie for the High Points Rider honors in the fall finale Sunday as the Nazareth University Equestrian team hosted the second day of the annual Nazareth Fall Show at Lehman Farms.
Keiffer earned the honor after winning both the Limit Flat and Limit Fences competitions in her sections. The tie was settled with a question and answer session with the judges and ultimately she was awarded the reserve High Points Rider of the show.
Keiffer was not the only Nazareth rider to come away with a blue ribbon for a first-place finish as classmate Tyler Manchester was named the top finisher in Limit Fences in his section and took second place in Limit Flat.
In addition, junior Daniella DeRuyter earned a first-place finish in the novice competition.
Sophomore Alexandra Leach took second place in Limit Fences and was also fifth in Limit Flats while senior Danielle Dunn was third in Flat and fourth in Fences in the Intermediate class.
Fellow senior Cailyn Bedwell moved up a class for Sunday's competition and placed fourth in Novice while sophomore Eram Bokhari was fourth and freshman Karabrie Wiggins was third in the Introductory class for Nazareth.
Additional top finishers included junior Lea White with a sixth in Fences and a fourth in Flat in the Limit class, junior Briar Lennon and sophomore Madeleine Jensen were each sixth in different Novice sections and senior McKayla Jenkins was sixth in Pre-Novice.
On Saturday, Keiffer was first in Limit Flat while White and Bedwell each collected second-place finishes.
White was second in Limit Fences and sixth in Flat while Bedwell was second in the pre-Novice class as she pointed out of the class and moved up to the Novice class.
Manchester was sixth in Fences and third in Flat in his Limit section and Leach was third in Fences and sixth in Flat in her section.
Keiffer added a fourth-place finish in Fences while senior Arden Tills was fifth in Fences and Fourth in Flat in her Limit section.
In the Novice class, DeRuyter placed fourth and sophomore Delaney Paulisczak was fifth in the A section while junior Briar Lennon was fifth in section B and sophomore Madeleine Jensen took sixth in section C.
In the Introductory class, Bokari and Wiggins each placed fifth in their respective sections.
In the Intermediate class, Dunn took sixth in Fences for Nazareth.
Nazareth is off until the spring season starts with the Cornell Show February 18.
