Women's Soccer and RIT settle for 0-0 Draw

ROCHESTER – For the fifth time in eight games, the Nazareth women's soccer team found themselves tied at the end of 90 minutes, playing to a 0-0 draw against RIT on Tuesday at Golden Flyer Stadium. Nazareth is now 1-2-5 on the year, while RIT moves to 5-2-1 on the season.

RIT managed to put offensive pressure on in both halves, mustering 10 shots apiece, while the Golden Flyers finished with six for the game.

Tatum Overton and Alexandra Skoda each tallied two shots for Naz, while Madison Knowles and Margaret Partlow each had one.

Annika Monfort kept a blank slate for the third time this season, making a season-high 10 saves.

The RIT defense made it difficult for the Golden Flyers to generate sustained pressure in the offensive zone for the entire contest. Nazareth has now been held without a goal in four of its eight contests in 2022.

RIT nearly broke the scoreless tie in the 81st minute when Elena Onodera ripped a shot from outside the box off the crossbar and down, but the ball did not go over the line.

Nazareth will now begin a streak of seven consecutive conference games starting with hosting Elmira on Saturday at 12 p.m.
