ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Visiting Skidmore College remained unbeaten on Saturday with a 7-0 win over Nazareth to move to 3-0 on the season. Meanwhile, the Golden Flyers drop to 0-5 on the year.

Nazareth begins Empire 8 play next Saturday, hosting Washington & Jefferson at 11:30 a.m.  W & J sits with a 1-3 record on the season.

Skidmore came out of the gates with two goals in both the first and second quarters. Carrie Hughes scored at the 25:12 mark for her first goal of the game to give the Thoroughbreds a 4-0 advantage which they maintained into the half.

The Golden Flyers proved tough coming out of the half holding Skidmore off the scoreboard, despite the visitors generating 10 shots in the third quarter.

In the fourth, Hughes netted back-to-back goals nearly two minutes apart to notch a hat-trick and boost the lead to 6-0. The Thoroughbreds added one more goal to round out the scoring.

After setting a career-high in saves with 24 in a loss to Brockport on Wednesday, freshman Mackenzie Halliday made 16 on Saturday.
