ROCHESTER, N.Y. --
Madison Nichols, a four-year fixture for the Nazareth College women's hockey team and the Golden Flyers' leading scorer the past two seasons, has signed a one-year pro contract with the Buffalo Beauts of the Premier Hockey Federation.
A native of Trinity, Fla., Nichols set a single-season scoring record for the Golden Flyers in 2021-22 with 46 points on 18 goals and 28 assists. She ranks second all-time in career scoring with 96 points, including 37 goals. She helped Nazareth to a 27-2 overall record in 2021-22, including a 20-0 mark in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. In just its fourth season of intercollegiate play, Nazareth captured the UCHC title and made its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Beauts are coached by former Nazareth assistant coach Rhea Coad, whose team played a 20-game schedule in 2021-22. The Premier Hockey Federation consists of six teams -- The Connecticut Whale, the Toronto Six, the Boston Pride, the Metropolitan Riveters, the Minnesota Whitecaps and the Beauts. Last year's season ran from early November to late March.
