Women’s Tennis Drops NCAA Tournament Match

AMHERST, MA – The Nazareth College Women's Tennis team ended its season with a first round loss, 5-0, to The College of New Jersey Friday in a first round match played at Amherst College.

The closest match for the Golden Flyers came at No. 1 doubles as the team of sophomore Aliya Guzman and freshman Claire Pullen dropped an 8-2 decision.

The No. 2 doubles team of freshman Lily Bulkeley and sophomore Katelyn Spath as well as the No. 3 doubles team of junior Theresa Hecht and freshman Gwen Burns both lost 8-0 decisions as TCNJ (17-2) opened up an early 3-0 lead in the match.

The singles matches that were completed were at No. 4 as Spath fell 6-1, 6-0 and No. 5 as senior Caroline Keegan fell by a score of 6-0, 6-0.

TCNJ advances to face Tufts Saturday in the second round of the tournament.
