Balanced Attack Leads to 3-0 Win for Men’s Volleyball

ROCHESTER, NY – After having two matches canceled due to weather Saturday, the Nazareth College Men's Volleyball team scheduled a match against Misericordia and took a 3-0 victory over the Cougars Sunday afternoon at Kidera Gymnasium.

Nazareth (8-1), ranked No. 13 in the latest AVCA national poll, won by set scores of 27-25, 25-19 and 25-16.

Sophomore Owen Wickens led the offense with 12 kills and a .417 attack percentage as nine players recorded kills in the straight sets victory. The Golden Flyers as a team totaled 33 kills including 10 in the third set with a .389 attack percentage.

Freshman Max Stuver had 15 assists and junior Trent Caviness added 10 assists while junior Nate Allen and junior Seth Terzo combined for 11 digs. Nazareth also had seven players record blocks with junior Colin Donahue leading the way with seven assisted blocks.

Misericordia (5-2) had 15 service errors and surrendered six aces from five different Nazareth servers.

The Golden Flyers return to action Wednesday at home against Elmira.
