Nazareth opens season at Hamilton Invitational

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- Nazareth opened its women's golf season over the weekend as the Golden Flyers competed at the Hamilton Invitational at Yahundasis Golf Club.

The Golden Flyers finished in 12th place in the 16-team field with a stroke total of 794. Williams won the event with a total of 613, 10 shots better than runner-up Amherst (63).

Senior Olivia Minor was Nazareth's top individual finisher with rounds of 98 and 97 on the par-73 layout. Her 195 total placed her in a tie for 60th place.

Junior Holly Ebert had scores of 101 and 95 for a 196 total and a tie for 62nd place. Junior Danielle Caringi (101-98 -- 199) finished 65th and sophomore Kayla Ringler (100-104 -- 204) was tied for 69th.

Gihoe Seo of Amherst was the individual winner with scores of 73 and 74 for a 1-over-par 147 total.

Nazareth is scheduled to compete again Sept. 25-26 at the Cortaca Invitational hosted by Cortland and Ithaca.
